WPW Fall Rally 2008
The 2008 Fall Rally will begin Sunday September 7th, 2008 at Olympia Grove on Pearce Mill Road, North Park, across from the Skating Rink.
The
WPW invites you to enjoy a beautiful Southwestern Pennsylvania ride on
low traffic back roads. This ride is open to the public of all ages and
riding ability.
Registration is performed at Olympia Grove on the day of the ride beginning at 6:45 am.
Fee for Ride:
WPW members – free
WPW membership and free Fall Rally: $17
Fall Rally without membership: $20.
There are three rides:
- Century
- Approximately 101 miles, departure begins at 7:00 AM. The century
route is a combination of the Metric Century Loop and the Mars &
Evans City loop.
- Metric Century - Approximately 64 miles, departure begins at 8:00 AM. There are two rest stops on this loop.
- Mars & Evans City Loop - Approximately 35 miles, departure begins at 10:00 AM. There are no official rest stops on this loop.
Shorter rides of 5-20 miles can be accomplished within the park on the bike trail.
Post-ride
festivities will be at Miller Grove in North Park (next to Olympia
Grove), and will include food, music, and sundry refreshments. Mars
& Evans City Loop riders are expected to return by 3:00 PM; Century
and Metric Century riders by 5:00 PM.
The WPW cares about your health and safety; therefore Helmets are Required.
SAG
(support) vehicles will travel along the routes. However, riders are
expected to be able to make common repairs such as repairing flat tires.
All riders should pace themselves so they complete the ride while the SAGS are still in service: 5:00 p.m.
All
routes will be carefully marked with temporary, painted road arrows.
Riders will be provided with detailed route maps, cue sheets, and
emergency telephone numbers.
